Former Cock o'the North Trophy and Int🎉ernational Gold Cup winner, Roger Marshall makes a welcome🍷 return to Oliver's Mount as a special guest for next weekend's Barry Sheene Classic Road Race Festival.

During a ni༺neteen-year road racing c🔴areer, the Lincolnshire born rider won a total of seven British Championships and became one of the most popular riders of his era.

One of his favourite venues was and still is Oliver's Mount, where he took the chequered fla♑g ten times in total, his first major win coming in 1977 when he won the Cock o't𒐪he North Trophy, relatively early in his career on the George Beale 750 Yamaha.

Ten year'꧃s later riding the Skoal Bandit Suzuki he won 💧the coveted International Gold Cup - one of thehighlights of his racing career.

Peter Hillaby, of he Auto 66 Club, organisers of the road races at 'The Mount' s🍬aid: "Roger was one of the most popular riders to have raced around the circuit during an era when the opposition consisted of the likes of Barry Sheene, Mick Grant, Steve Parrish, Dave Po🔴tter, Graeme Crosby and Wayne Gardner - all Oliver's Mount heroes.

The Barry Sheene Road Race Festival takes place on S🐈aturday and Sunday 23rd & 24th May, wit🐭h the action getting underway both days at 9.30am.

In addition to the 24 scheduled races, which will see both Classic and Modern machines competing at the meeting for the fi🐬rst time, there will be a number of parades featuring European and Japanese racing machines.

Admission is available at the entrance, adults ?15 each day or a two day ticket ?28, accompanied chil🌞dren 15 and under and parking is free.
