James Toseland wants an end to the 'playground' feud with team-m𓄧ate Colin Edwards, which has literally divided the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team in two he🍬ading into the 2009 MotoGP season.

The pair of double World Superbike champions enjoyed an excellent relationship last year, but Edwards hasn't spoken to the Englishman since it was announced that his crew chief Garry Reynders was switching t🦩o Toseland's side of th💝e garage for 2009.

A furious Edwards prom🐽ptly teamed up with Toseland's former crew chief Guy Coulon, and has repeatedly expressed his delight at outpacing the #52 in winter testing.

Any hopes that Edwards might soften his stance were extinguished at las🍷t weekend's Jerez test, when it was revealed that tꦦhe Tech 3 pits will be divided by a wall this season, as already happens (for competitive reasons) at Fiat Yamaha.

"It didn't have to happen like this and I can imagine why he feels the way he does," Toseland told BBC Sport. "We just need to sit in a room and talk about tꦇhe ♛situation, but he's got a wall in the garage like he wanted."

Toseland confirmed t✅hat 'communication problems' were the maꦏin reason for requesting a change of crew chief.

"I had a communication probleℱm with [Coulon] and thought another year of that and I could find myself without a GP ride," he said. "I've no problem with ꧟his ability as an engineer - it was about communication.

"He didn't spea𓆉k English that well a﷽nd with my Yorkshire slang, I think that made things difficult too," said Toseland. "I needed someone experienced who understood me to help me get where I wanted and to punch my weight."

The 28-year-old revealed that he spoke to team manager Herve 🧔Ponch♛aral about his concerns as early as round three and, when the situation failed to improve, Toseland says that Poncharal indicated a swap was possible.

Toseland doesn't regret the decision to swap ꧃crew chiefs, but feels Edwards should hav🥂e been notified at a far earlier stage.

"The only problem was that there was no communication going back ﷽to Colin, so all of a sudden he's told by Garry," confess♚ed Toseland.

"In al✱l the preಌss you can see how it looks - we're not talking to each other.

"I've got a slating off a lot of people and I'ꦚve taken it all on the chin. It's playground stuff now ౠand it didn't need to get to this," he added.

Toseland has suffered two huge accidents while adap✤ting to Bridgestone tyres during pre-season testing, while Edwards heads into the new season with a series of highly impressive performances under his belt.

The 2009 🍷MotoGP sea🌱son begins at Qatar on the evening of April 12.
