The European appearance𝄹 of the most successful rider in AMA Motocross/Supercross history, who is heading for a new career in Stock Car racing, is sure to guarantee a sell-out event as the stars battle for individual and national honour within the cramped confines of "le chaudron" ("the cooking pot").

Past Kings of Bercy include such legends Johnny O'Mara, David Bailey, Rick Johnson, Jeff Ward, Jean-Mic♌hel Bayle, Jeff Stanton, Jeremy McGrath, Mike LaRocco and David Vuillemin - but not yet Carmichael...

The 'Greatest Rider Of All Time' came to Bercy early in his big-bike career, but had 🦩a disappointing week-end, which ended prematurely when a gearbox malfunction sent him over the 'bars during day two practice and left him with a broken collarbon𝐆e.

RC still has a plate in his shoulder to remind hi🧔m about the incident but, when contacted 🥂by the promoters, he jumped at the chance to add the King of Bercy title to his extra-long list of achievements.

And the Floridian will be able to ride his usual 450cc Suzu𓄧ki, after a rule change ended a five-year run of 250cc-only racing.

Grant Langston, the newly crowned AMA Motocross champion, will be eager to inflict a rare defeat on Carmichael, after finishing second to RC at the 2007 X-Games. The "Zulu Warrior" loves Bercy - he was crowned King, twice, on smaller bikes - and, as always, the hard-charging South African won'tཧ give an inch to his competition

Himself twice King of Bercy, American Andrew Short is another rider who has great hopes. After battling with Langston for the ꦜAMA title, finishing third in the prestigi🌄ous series, the Factory Honda rider has shown his true potential on big bikes too.

Sebastien Pourcel, the most successful French rider this season - he finished 4th, for his first MX1 season, with two GP wins - will represent ꦅthe host Nation and aim to replicate his younger brother's 2006 victory. Christophe will not ride due this ওyear due to serious injuries sustained in the Grand Prix of Northern Ireland.

Carmichael, Langston and Pourcel will be the leaders for the th𒉰ree teams: USA, "Rest♌ of the World" and France.

Besides RC and Short, Josh Grant will be back to represent the U🌟SA, after a strong but crash-filled showing last year. The fourth rider for Team USA will be announced after the US Open.

France's team will consist of the MXDN Team: Pourcel, Nico꧂las Aubin and Pierre-Alexandre Renet, the fourth man being Eric Sorby, one of the top privateers to compete in the 🥀AMA SX class.

Currently hurt, David Vuillemin, the most successful rider in Bercy history, is scheduled to be back on a bike - his new Factory Suzuki no less - for mid-October. Dependi⛦ng on how he feels, Vuillemin and new team manager Roger DeCoster will decide if the ultra-popular 'DV12' can race this 25th edition.

In the Rest of the World line-up, Langston will be joined by Martin Davalos with the other team members still to be🌃 announced.

A fourth Team will present the four best racers from the French SX Tour championships, which will race one champions🌳hip heat each night.

Riders like Benjamin Coisy, Marvin Musquin, Jeremy Tarroux, Kou🦩nsith Vongsana and new European Champion Gauthier Paulin, to name a few, will want to use this race to transfer into the Open class, to complete the 16-man gateꦗ.

After a successful introduction last y🔯ear, the 85cc class will be back in Bercy. 2007 world champion and German-sensation Ken Roczen will challenge the '06 Prince of Bercy, Great Britain's Max Anstie, and the '07 European Champion, France's Jason C🌸lermont, along with seven other young French hopes, lead by Jordi Tixier.

Freestyle is an important factor in Bercy's magic mix and Paris' own FMX legend Manu Troux will make his last appeara🎶nce after numerous classic performances in this stadium.

Manu will be joined by his pupils, To🅺m and Charly Pag?s, Japan's high flyer Eigo Sato and Switzerland's star, Matt༒ Rebeaud, for three burning sessions each night.
