Jacques Villeneuve made his debut for Team Sa♛uber-Petronas today [Friday], as the Swiss outfit completed a three-day test at the C🀅ircuit de Catalunya.

The Canadian, who took over from team-mate Felipe Massa, covered 97 laps in chassis C23-02 to set a best time of 1 minute 15.🦩219 seconds, just two tenths slower than Ricardo Zonta, who was fastest overall.

The 199▨7 F1 world champion was pleased with his efforts.

"My first day of te🌟stingꦑ with Sauber Petronas went really well," he commented. "I had spent enough time in the factory for the seat fitting, so I felt immediately comfortable in the car.

"I did a lot of lap♛s today and the times were good. In addition, the car ran ab🎐solutely reliable, we had no technical problems whatsoever. So it was really a very productive first day.

"We worked on the set-up mainly to further adapt the C23 to the Mꦿichelin tyres. We have a good basis and I am confident that we can continue this work in a positive way during our next test in Jerez."

Sauber will test at Jerez from December 1-3.
