Dan Linfoot has been ruled out of the Thruxton and Cadwell Park rounds of the Bennetts British Super♊bike championship after it was confir🌳med he had suffered a fractured left scaphoid in his wrist during his crash in race one at Brands Hatch this weekend.
The Honda Racing rider, who missed both the Brands Hatch Indy and Oulton Park rounds with a neck injury, will now sit out two further rounds in his 2018 campaign. Linfoot claimed a podium finish at the opening round at Don🔴ington Park, along with two fur🌸ther fourth place finishes, but his chances of making the BSB Showdown look almost impossible following his wrist injury. Linfoot currently trails the top six by 66 points.
Honda haꦍs confirmed it is assessing its options for his stand-in replacement for the following two rounds. The team called up three-time BSB champion Ryuichi Kiyonari for the Oulton ꦺPark round in May.
Linfoot had also been set to take part in this weekend’s Suzuka 8 Hour💟s for the Japanese manufacturer.
“This weekend has been mega frustrating and another one of those weekends unfortunately,” Linfoot said on Sunday. “I didn’t have a great qualifying and I had started to make progress in race one, but had an early crash into Westfield and as a result I have done some damage ♒to my scaphoid.
“It’s so frustrating🧸 as I am just back from injury; we had such a good first round on the podium and now another injury and another setb♌ack.”
Honda has been plagued by injuries in 2018 having seen Linfoot’s team-mate Jason O’H💞alloran suffered a nasty ankle injury competing for the Red Bull Honda squad as an injury stand-in for Leon Camier at the Imolaꦯ World Superbike round in May. O’Halloran has returned to action but is continuing to recover from the ankle damage.
