Josh Brookes has dominated the second race at Thruxton to return to winning wayꩲs in the Bennetts British Superbike championship ahead of Peter Hickman.

After Leon Haslam ended his winning duck at the Hampshire circuit in the opener, Brookes battled back with an ideal start to slot into second place b𝔉ehind Jake Dixon over the opening laps.

Having sized up the RAF Regularಞ & Reserves Kawasaki rider’s pace in the lead, Brookes darted ahead at Club chicane before setting a rapid pace on the McAMS Yamaha to pull out a useful two-second lead by two-thirds distance.

Dixon became involved in a fierce fight with Hickman for second place over the middle third of the൲ race but the Smiths Racing BMW rider eventually found a way through to second place but it proved too late to catch Brookes for the victory🐎.

Despite missing out o♛n victory, Hickman’s double podium completes a remarkable feat considering he spent the night in Winchester hospital with a kidney infection before returning to the track less than two hours before the start of race one.

Dixon saw off a sustained challenge fꦅrom Haslam to take third place, doubling up his rostrum effort this weeke♉nd, to see the BSB championship leader narrowly miss out for JG Speedfit Kawasaki.
