Lase♏r Tools Racing's Aiden Moffat becomes the 16th different winner o♚f the 2018 British Touring Car Championship season after winning a classic reverse grid encounter at Silverstone.
The Mercedes A-Class driver had to overcome severe pressure, as well as a mid-race safety-car period, in order to clinch his first BTCC win of the season, as the championship battle was played out in spectacular fashion behind 🀅him.
Moffat endured the thick of end of the race with both title protagonists Tom Ingram and Colin Turkington glu♐ed to the rear of his Laser Tools 𒁏Racing Mercedes.
As Ingram and Turkington traded blows i꧅n second and third, Moffat ultimately prevailed for the win, but only 0.2s ahead of Ingram in second.
At one point on the final lap, it looked as though Turkington was set to muscle his way past Ingram to re-extend his championship lead. However, Ingram held🐼 his ground despite the pair making light ♈contact at Luffield.
As a result, Turkington will now carry a 34-point lead into 🗹the fina🌱l round at Brands Hatch ahead of Ingram.
