Josh Owens is assessing the possibility of setting up his own team for 2019 as his options narrow while targeting a retu🦩rn 𒅌to the British Supersport GP2 Cup next year.

After being cruelly denied his Grand Prix debut in Moto2 at Silverstone last month, when all races at the British MotoGP round were cancelled due to safety concerns on track conditions, Owens ♔has refocused his efforts in BSS’s GP2 Cup and is on the edge of securing the inaugural title.

With five consecutive class wins stretching back to race two at Cadwell Park, Owens has moved 73 points clear of nearest GP2 Cup rival Jorel ღBoerboom wi🔜th two rounds and four races remaining.

But with RS♒ Racing unable to provide Owens with a 2019 ride, he🌳 remains short of options and could look to enter a privately-run team next season.

“Unfortunately with no offers of a ride on the table currently and now the belief that I do belong in the paddock, knowing I can run with the front runners at every round, we are looking at the possibility of running our own bike in the GP2 Cup next season if a ride does not become available,” Owens sa𝔉id.

“With it looking like there will be a lot more GP2 machines on the grid next se🧸ason it should be a competitive series 𒁏and one which I want to show I belong in.

“Unfortunately i🐼f it comes to it, running our own team is something we can’t do without the help of sponsors.”
