Fans to remain banned from attending British racing events until May 17

MotorSport Vision says it is “incredibly disappointed” fans will not be allowed to attend racing events at national circuits over the next month after a u-turn from the U🐽K government.
As part of the government’s plans to ease lockdown res✨trictions, fans were set to be allowed to attend non-elite sports events from April 12.
This is no longer the case and a ban has been applied to spectators at sports events unt🎃il May 17, even though other outdoor events and at꧑tractions are open again as normal.
MotorSport Vision is the owner of Brands Hatc꧅h, Donington Park, Oulton Park, Snetterton and Cadwell Park, while the company itself is owned by former F1 driver Jonathan Palmer.
A statement from MotorSport V🃏ision read: “Whilst outdoor attractions like zoos and theme parks can reopen, and events such as boot fairs, steam rallies and food festivals can take place with up to 4,000 visitors per day, a specific ban has been applied to spectators at sport events - even at grassroots level - until 17 May.
“This means that all events due to take place between 12 April and 17 Ma🦹y will now be run behind closed doors, and only essential personnel may attend.
“MSV is incredibly disappointed by this development. The UK government is now actively encouraging people to get outside and enjoy the fresh air, and circuit venues are by their very nature wide-open spaces like parks, with ample room to enable social distancing across do𝄹zens of spectator viewing areas.
“Nevertheless, we must comply with this new guidance and all affected customers will be contacted by email with options on how to manage their booking - including obtaining refunds. Spectators will be welcome at all MSV race events from 22 May, in compliance with ꦉCOVID-sec🌼ure guidance issued by the government at that time.”
Formula 1's British Grand P෴rix is expected to remain unaffected as it is a major sporting event and takes place in July.
