Xavier Cardelus and MotoE rookie Andre Pires complete the first of three days testing in Jerez as preparations intensify ahead of the ꦚseason opener on May 2nd. 

These three days are the final testing opportunity for riders and teams ahead of the third MotoE World Cup𒉰 c🦩ampaign. 

The series began in 2019 with Matteo Ferrari becoming thꦬe first champion, before former World Superbike rider Jordi Torres claimed the title last year. 

In 2021, the Avintia Esponsorama team will be relying mostly on the returning Cardelus who rounded out t⛦he top ten during today’s pಌractice. 

"After a year of lear♎ning and getting to know the bike, I think this is the year of thi🅘nking about bigger goals," said Cardelus. 

"The work we have done here in presea🅺son has been very positive, but that doesn’t mean ♛everything stays the same or better. 

"Today we must start from zero and work in the same way t🍷hat we have done in the preseason. 

"I really like the Jerez track an🎉d I’m ready to keep improving for the race."

Liking the Circuito de Jerez - Angel Nieto is a sentiment shared by his rookie ওteam-mate Pires. 

The Portuguese🔜 rider has so far enjoyed the process of riding a new bike and said: "I am very motivated; I want to start thi💜s new adventure. The first tests with the MotoE were very positive even though it was a new bike for me, the sensations are very good. 

"In these second tests I already have more data, I am more comfortable with the bike and I am more𝓡 confident that it is very important. 

"I love fast corners on this circuit. It is not very technical, but I like it a lot. In 🍰this track I have more experience than others so I have to take advantage of it."
