Mugello pole s♕itter Marc Marquez got the better of fellow front row starter Jorge Lorenzo by 0.123s to lead morning warm-up for the Italian MotoGP💞.

Movisꦕtar Yamaha's Lorenzo, winner of the last t𝓰hree Mugello races, led the majority of the session with Repsol Honda's Marquez - yet to be beaten in 2014 qualifying or races - taking over with five minutes remaining.

Both Marquez and Lorenzo prepared for this afternoon's grand prix by completing one long run during the 20-minute session, Marquez dipping under 1m 48s on three of his eight fast laps and Lorenzo🏅 on one of his ten. However Lorenzo's 1m 47s came on his final lap.

While the Spaniards look well prepared for the race, Stefan Bradl's participation was in doubt after a massive 🥂highside. Th꧒e young German was thrown twisting into the air when his RC213V jack-knifed across the track in the downhill braking zone for turn ten.

Bradl, who has qu🅷alified ninth, walked away checking his right hand but was subsequently cleared to compete after further checks at the Medical Centre. Marquez saved a rear-wheel momen𝔍t at the same area.

Home legend Valentino Ro༺ssi, starting his 300th grand prix from just tenth place after a front tyre mistake in qualifying, had a busy morning.

The Yamaha star was constantly in and out of the pits a꧋nd only recorded two complete flying laps, the ♉best of which put The Doctor in eighth place (+0.717s) - his pensive body language after the session suggesting he has plenty to think about for the race.

Surprisingly, giꦺven the issues in qualifying, Rossi still appears to be considering the soft front tyre.

Countryman Andrea Iannone will start from a career best second this afternoon and looks set to run the soft rear tyre, only available to the Openꦓ class and Ducati riders, after using the white line rubber on his way﷽ to third (+0.141s) in warm-up.

Repsol Honda's Dani Pedrosa repeated his fourth on the grid this morning (+0.329s), w𝓀ith Ducati's Andrea Dovizioso (starting eighth) within 0.415s of Marquez. Tech 3 Yamaha team-mates Pol Espargaro﷽ and Bradley Smith were ranked between Dovizioso and Rossi in warm-up.

Cal Crutchlow will line-up a Ducati best sixth for the race, but was only ninth this morning (+0.718s). Gresini Honda's Alvaro Bautista continued his tough weekend in eleventh - a fra🎐ction ahead of top🎉 Open rider Aleix Espargaro (+1.374s).
