Leon Camier steps in for healing Hayden

Leon Camier will make꧒ a belated MotoGP debut in place 𒉰of a healing Nicky Hayden at the Drive M7 Aspar team.

The announcement was ma💞de on T൩hursday evening by the official MotoGP website:

Former BSB champion and multiple WSBK podium finisher Camier had been due to ride for Iodaracing in MotoGP this season, but lost out when the team cut back to a single ART due to funding issues.

The 27-year-old Englishman instead returned to WSBK as a replacement for injur💫ed riders at BMW (Sylvain Barrier) and MV Agusta (Claudio Corti) - but was also put on standby to replace Hayden at Catalunya in June, where the American ultimately made his comeback from the initial wris🐼t surgery.

However having recently undergone a second operation, Hayden will not have time to recover for the upcoming꧋ Indianapolis and Brno rounds - August 10th and 17th respectively - where Camier will take his place on the Open class Honda.
