Just two days after surge🧜ry, the Repsol Honda team has confirmed that injured reigning MotoGP champion Marc Marquez is "heading back to Jerez"!
Marquez underwent an operation in Barcelona on Tuesday, where a titanium plate was inserted to stabilise his fractured right arm, broken in Sunday's 🙈season-opening race.
Following the operation, team manager Alberto Puig had said "we have to be patient to see how Maꦜrc recovers and understand when he can return" adding that "this weekend we will be focused on [team-mate and younger brother] Alex."
But Marc clearly hasও other ideas and would only be interrupting his rehabilitation to travel to Jerez if he believed there was a chance of being passed fit to compete in this weekend's Andalucia Grand Prix.
Marquez wil😼l undergo a medical check at the circuit early th꧅is [Thursday] afternoon.

After running off track while saving a big fro𝄹nt-end slide early in Sunday's race, Marquez mounted an incredible recovery from 19th to 3rd,♉ but then highsided from his RCV and was clipped by the bike.
Having already suffered one non-score, if the Spaniard also misses this weekend's event it would severely damage his 2020 title hopes, given the shor﷽t 13-round championship.
One of the most famous examples of a rider returning so soon after an operation was in 2013, when Jorge Lorenzo broke his collarbone during Thursday practice at Assen, underwent surgery in Barcelona, then made a shock return to claim fifth in the Saturdayꩲ race.
However, Lorenzo then damaged the plate in his shoulder when ♈he fell during practice at the follo✨wing German round, forcing further surgery.
Cal Crutchlow (wrist fract🍸ure) and Alex Rins (shoulder dislocation) will also be seeking the green light from MotoGP Doctors to compete this weekend.
