Mercedes to run special livery on F1 cars for German GP

Mercedeꦜs’ Formula 1 cars will adorn a special one-off livery at the German Grand Prix to celebrate 125 years of motorsport.

This week marks 125 years since the first ever automobile took pl꧒ace on public roads from Paris to Rouen on July 22 1894, and Mercedes has decided to pay homage to the milestone at its home race at Hockenheim this weekend.

In its race preview ahead of the 11th round of the 2019 season, ꦅMercedes confirmed it will run a “commemorative livery to pay tribute to our heritage” in Germany, a weekend which also coincides with its 200th grand prix start.

“This year's race is a very special ev🍒ent,” said Mercedes boss Toto Wolff.

“We're the title sponsor of the Mercedes-Benz Großer Preis von Deutschland and the race will mark✅ the 200th start 𒁃for Mercedes in Formula 1.

“We will also celebrate a remarkable anniversary in Hockenheim: 125 years of motorsport.

“In 1894, the world's first car race was held f🥂rom Paris to Rouen and the winning machine had at its hear🍌t an engine manufactured to the design of Gottlieb Daimler.

“It was the start of a great motorꦅsport tradition that continues to this day an♉d we are incredibly proud to write the next chapter in this legacy.
