When Checa and Biaggi were team-mates
Following round three of the 2011 World Superbike Championship, at Assen, Carlos Checa and Max Biaggi are now first and second in🅰 the standings.
At 38🍸 (Checa) and 39 (Biaggi) years old, the pair are among the most experienced on the WSBK grid. Both also spent much of the world championship careers in grand prix racing - and were team-mates at the Factory Yamaha 500cc/MotoGP Team from 1999-2002.
Ahead of what looks like being a 201🐷1 championship battle between the pair, the below 🔯table shows how they compared as team-mates.
At Yamaha, Biaggi clearly had the upper ha💟nd over Checa on both the 500cc two-stroꩲke (1999-2001) and 990cc four-stroke (2002).

However, so far in 2011, 🎃it is Carlos and Althea Ducati﷽ that hold a 43 point lead over Aprilia's reigning WSBK champion Biaggi.
Biaggi was a four-time world champion in 250cc g🐻rand prix racing, whil🐎e Checa is yet to win a world title in any class. Will that change in 2011?
