Guintoli to miss second Phillip Island race

The Frenchman's unbroken run of race finishes comes to a spectacular end as injury forces him to skip the second Phillip Island race.

Sylvain Guintoli will not start the second World Superbike race at Phillip Island after sustaining a series of injuries in an accident during the opening encount🌃er.

The Frenchman was making up ground after a poor start from third on the grid left him down in 18th𓂃 position during the opening bends.

Battling his way up to tenth position in just 🌺four laps, Guintoli's progress would be brought to an abrupt halt on lap six when he crash at the final corner.

Take🧔n to the medical c🍃entre, the Effenbert Liberty Ducati rider has reportedly suffered injuries to his hand, knee and shoulder blade, forcing him to sit out of the second race.

A disappointing start to the year for Guintoli, who finished every ꩲrace in 2010 (his Magny-Cours exclusion included), he now has a month in which to get ready for the second round at Doningto🔜n Park.
