Glenfords Racing driver Fabian C✃oulthard has dismissed talk of a test track advantage for Victorian-based teams, as the V8 Supercar Champions heads south for the eighth round of the 2008 V8 Supercar Championship at Winton Raceway.

Pointing out V🍌ictorian-based Mark Winterbottom's recent victory at Queensland Raceway - the test track for the Queensland-based teams including Glenfords Racing - Coult🅘hard is confident that his #111 Falcon will again have the pace to run among the top ten.

"I've done a bit of time around Winton with Porsches in '04 and '05 and Supercars in '06 and '07 and I quite like the track," he said. "On the whole, I quite like Winton because it's got a💮 variety of elements with a good, fast corner and some slow, tight, technical corners.

"It's a test track for a lot of the other teams, so that's somethin📖g that we have to come up against, but if you've got a car that works there you can get a pretty strong result, regardless. I don't take any different approach to Winton as to any other circuit - it's a tra𒁃ck we race at just like any other track that's part of our calendar and you have to do the best you can there.

"Nothing really changes from week to week and i꧋f you can do the job one weekend then you should be able to do it the next. We've shown that we have the car speed to run top ten and that's definitely what wꦛe will strive for again this weekend. We'll be working pretty hard to get the car as best we can straight out of the truck and hopefully we're in a good position come practice and race time."

Team principal Paul Cruickshank said that the team w💞ill be looking to try and bring home a top ten finish from the weekend ahead of the upcoming enduro events at Phillip Island and Bathurst and said he wa♍s confident of a strong result.

"As alway✱s, we are looking for a top ten result at Winton, and if we can come away with that it should keep us on target to be up in twelfth place heading into the enduros," he said. "The Glenfords team has made a massive leap forward this season and we've achieved several top ten results on merit so far this season and proven that we have the pace to consistent🐈ly run with that leading pack.

"We've obviously got some strong teams that we r♍ace against that are all two- car teams and although we are still a relatively young single-car team, we're gaining in experience all the time. We've just got to be on top of our game and do the best we can to run top ten."
