Andreas Aigner has hit out at the spectators on the Rally Mexico after they ruined his chang🉐es of scoring any ღpoints.

The Red Bul♐l Rallye Team driver went into the event, the second round in the Production Car World Rally Championship, keen to try and open his account, after finishing ninth in Sweden and just missing out.

However it all went wrong on the first loop on day one. Going into SS3 he was running in the points in the PWRC category, sixth overall, 6.9 seconds behind Fumio Nutahara. Part way through the 17.88 kilometre El Cubilete test though he hit🅷 a rock in his Mitsubishi Evo, which damaged his engine and forced him to retire from the leg.

After that it was a case of damage limitation and in the e🔯nd he could only finish eleventh, 33.5 minutes off the lead and around 8 minutesꦑ off the final points' position.

"I h🌸ave to thank my team of mechanics once again," he reflected. "They really did a great job. I owe it to them that I was able to finish the r🀅ally.

"But what a sham🤪e that the spectators here were so undiscip🦋lined, ruining my chance of scoring championship points with their stupidity."

Asked about that incident in more detail, he added that the rock had🤡 definitely been put deliberately on th🅺e road.

"Suddenly, in a blind corner, two large rocks were lying on the road.🐲 I didn't stand a chance," he recount📖ed at the end of leg one.

"This wo♈uld never happen under normal circumstances. I guess that some spectators had a hand in it because earlier some other drivers already had rocks thrown at their windscreens."
