Former Renault third driver, Franck Montagny is looking forward to the🃏 S💛panish Grand Prix this Sunday, after it was confirmed that he will drive for the Super Aguri F1 team for the second event in succession.

Montagny has been drafted in after Yuji Ide's troubled start to the season, which culminated in that first-lap incident🍌 with Christijan Albers at the start of the San Marino GP. Ide has subsequently had his super licence revoked, something which means he will not race again this year.

Although he failed to finish at the 'Ring last weekend, after being forced out around mid-distance with hydraulic problems, Montagny is now determined to put the experi൩ence he gained with the SA05 there to good use, even if the Circuit de Catalunya is a much tougher prospect.

"I am happy to be going to Barcelona, it is a great circuit," he noted. "I believe that it will be a very different experieꦿnce to last weekend as the track is much harder than the Nurburgring.

"It is good to be back with the Super Aguri F1 team as the first time you are with a team you try to do well and get to know everyone, but the second time, for sure, it is a bit easier to do something good. I am im🎃patient to go there and to do well, ൲so I am looking forward to this weekend."

Team boss, Aguri Suzuki meanwhile added that while he is disappointed with the decision by the FIA to strip Ide of his super-licence, he has confidence i🍷n Montagny and was pleased with his performance at the European GP. Indeed although Franck has not been given the nod for the rest of the season, he has been confirmed for Monaco as well, the next grand prix after Spain later this month.

"The current situation with Yuji and the Super Aguri F1 team is regretful, but we will continue to support him," added Suzuki. "We will keep trying our best during the remaining races and continue to grow as a team. In order to do so, Taku [Sato] and Franck's feedback is extremely important. Franck provided us with great feedback rega⛦rding the SA05 during the European Grand Prix and I am happy to have him with us for the Spanish and Monaco races."
