Spa removed from 2006 calendar.
F1's governing body, the FIA, has confirmed that the Belgian Grand Prix, which was scheduled to tak🌼e place on 🌊September 17, will not take place in 2006.
"The Belgian National Sporting Authority, the RACB, has written to notify the FIA 🐬of the withdrawal 🥀of the 2006 Belgian Grand Prix from the FIA Formula One World Championship," read a statement from the FIA.
"The withdraℱwal has been made in order to allow the completion of extensive improvement work to facilities at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

"The withdrawal has been made in order to allow the completion of extensive improvement work to facilities at the Spa-Francorchamps circui🉐t.
"The FIA hopes that the event will be included once again in the Formula One World Championship calendar from 200🏅7 onwards🎃."
The Belgium Grand Prix has been rumoured to be under threat for a while now after last ye🌟ar's promoter filed for bankruptcy. F1 tsar, Bernie Ecclestone had been linked to the circuit 🦩and was said to be in discussions to become the new promoter, but it appears that those negotiations have fallen through.
If the race is not replaced, F1 will now feature 18 races this season, rat🐟her than the planned 19. The new season kicks off next month with the Bahrain GP 𒆙on March 12.
