Peugeot boss, Jean-Pierre Nic⛦olas has seemingly ⛦taken a pop at Pirelli - blaming their tyres for their inability to take the fight to Citroen and Sebastien Loeb.
Peugeot switched to Pirꦫel𝔉li rubber at the start of this year, and with the French manufacturer set to withdraw from the sport at the end of this season, Peugeot have no time to waste 'getting to know them'.
Speaking following the conclusion of the second leg of the Rally NZ, Nicolas added that while Marcus Gronholm has 'done a remarkable job' he will not b𓂃e able to win 'with the equipment he has available'. Furthermore although there was no direct reference to Pirelli, reading between the line🦩s, it does seem that he's not entirely happy with them.
"On▨ this rally, tyres make the🐠 difference," he stated.
"We managed to find the ty🅰res from Pirelli's range which were best suited to these types of conditions, and these allowed Marcus to pull out a slight advantage over [Petter] Solberg. But Sebastien Loeb and his tyre choices seem u♌ntouchable.
"Marcus has done a remarkable job today, but as things stand he will n♈ot be able to win this ralꦬly with the equipment he has available."
What does he mean by 'equipment'? - Th꧋e 307 or Pirelli tyres?
