Tortelli won the 250 class on his Honda/Universal Studios CR 250 by winning the first moto, and finishing third in 🔥the second, to beat National champion Ricky Carmichael, who claimed the runner-up spot overꦯall.
Carmichael had some problems in the first moto, but fought back in his usual style to finish in fifth. The Kawasaki rider then won the second moto, in a repeat of his per𓆏🅺formance at round one, Glen Helen.
The final podium position went to Mike LaRoc🧔co on the Amsoil/Dr. Martens Honda with a second and fifth placed finishes, under the Californian sun.
Tortelli'♐s victory will go some way towards easing his fears of losing his seat at Honda, if the rumours of Ricky Carmich🧸ael signing for the Red Riders are true.
Grant Langston won the 125 class on his Red Bullꦐ/KTM with an impressive double moto sweep. The result means that the South African keeps his perfect outdoor record in 2001: four races - four wins.
Meanwhile, reigning Nati🌸onal champion Travis Pastrana had race finishes of ninth and second to give him second overall. Third place went🥃 to Pastrana's Suzuki team-mate Rodrig Thain with finishes of fourth and ninth.
