Kubica drew huge fan and media attention during his test for Williams at the Yas Marina circuit and while a glance over his lap times appears impressive the British team r🦋emains firmly tight-lipped on whether the Polish driver has done enough to secure a race seat.

A philosophical Kubica appeared relaxed after the Abu Dhabi test and was thrilled with his progress over the past 12 months. This time last year there wasn’t a flicker of hope seeing Kubica r💖eturn to F1, ironically his new manager Nico Rosberg was gra♈bbing headlines by retiring just days after clinching a maiden F1 world title, but since then Kubica has tested for Renault and Williams in various specifications of F1 cars under media scrutiny.

The current rumbles from Williams is Kubica is the 🥃strongest contender to partner Lance Stroll to replace the retiring Felipe Massa but both sides accept there are still risks with his injured right forearm which halted his F1 career in early 2011.

Williams has confirmed an official decision on its driver line-up won’t be made for potentially a few weeks as its assesses its options between Kubica and fellow shortlisted drive💙rs Sergey Sirotkin, Paul di Resta, Daniil Kvyat and Pascal Wehrlein – which gives us time to pick our 2018 driver line-up.
